An Art Deco Pair of Essex Crystal Cufflinks of Racing Horses

Art Deco linked back Cufflinks of Essex Crystal, reverse painted Enamel and Mother of Pearl background, within Brass Discs depicting Horse and Jockey in a Steeple Race. Each is individually hand made and enamelled. All nearly identical but each disc is an individual production. Essex crystal pieces are formed from a rock crystal cabochon (polished domes of rock crystal with a flat base), the image then reverse carved and/or then painted, to give them impression of a three-dimensional object when viewed from above. Loved, used and with lots of age patina. All intact, external age wear only with no real damage or losses.. Dimensions approx.: disks 1.3cm dia.; shirt link width 1.3cm between disks. England. Circa 1920’s.
