The Lyse Byknife is the same knife that Landsknecht Emporium includes for its premium Messer and Kriegsmesser scabbards – but sold separately here and a great option for someone who wants a finely crafted late Medieval / early Renaissance utility knife or a byknife that can be used to make a custom scabbard. These By-knives are not tacked-on “value-added” items of dubious quality, but well-crafted knives in their own right and eminently useful right out of the box. The blades are sharp 6150 high carbon steel with care taken to give them a thick spine and even some distal taper. The tang is quite thick and the full-tang hilt construction is completed with grip scales of hardwood which are triple-riveted directly to the tang.
