A Vintage Lea Stein Black and White Tortoise Brooch

A vintage Lea Stein Turtle brooch in layered French lucite, showcasing a bold black and white herringbone pattern across the domed shell. The head, legs, tail and underbody are finished in deep jet black, creating strong contrast and a beautifully sculpted profile. An early two-level construction, the patterned shell is mounted over a tortoiseshell-toned ground, highlighting Lea Stein’s distinctive laminated technique and enduring Art Deco character. The reverse retains the original V-shaped French roll-over clasp, clearly hallmarked LEA STEIN / PARIS. In excellent condition with no damage.
