A vintage Lea Stein Paris brooch, “Bacchus the Cat,” in an uncommon and striking colourway of blue ground with red, white, and orange patches over a fine chequered pattern. This earlier three-dimensional design features a layered construction with defined head, nose and ears above the eyes and cheeks, set over the curved body with upswept tail and outward paws. Signed in full to the reverse on the Lea Stein “V” clasp with French roll-over safety pin. In perfect condition throughout, with no marks, damage or wear. These rare, early pattern brooches are highly sought after and increasingly scarce, often retained in private collections. Dimensions: 9.3cm high x 4cm wide x 1cm deep (including clasp).
