Tod Cutler – Brass Mace Head 6 – 13th to 14th Century Scandinavian

This leering and ghoulish mace with its highly detailed head is quality cast from brass and mounted atop a haft of robust ash wood. It was secured with a wooden socket wedge for a tight fit and further reinforced with glue. This mace is a reproduction based on a historical Scandinavian example kept within the Bergen museum collection which is dated to the 13th – 14th century. A rather characterful mace with a macabre face, it would be an unwelcome last sight for any foes it may have met in battle.
