This Native American War Club is fashioned from hardwood which has been artistically hand carved in the form of a snake with brass studded embellishment. Wooden ball clubs were used by many of the tribal warriors of Eastern North America and the Great Lakes region. A lightweight and hard-hitting weapon these were well-suited to the fast-paced raids and ambushes common to Native American warfare; with a deft and well-placed swing a tribesman could crush the bones of an opponent with such a club in hand.
