A Large Vintage Austin Productions Cubist Ceramic Cat Sculpture by Alexander Danel, beautifully modelled in a sleek, stylised modernist form with strong geometric lines and an elegant seated pose. Finished in a soft stone-toned surface, this impressive statement piece has wonderful presence and sculptural impact, ideal for a console, sideboard, or as a floor-standing feature. This example is clearly stamped to the base AUSTIN PROD INC and A. DANIEL, identifying the design as Alexander Danel. Danel was an American sculptor and designer celebrated for his Cubist-inspired animal and figure sculptures, produced and distributed through Austin Productions in the late 20th century. His work is admired for its clean simplified forms, architectural styling, and highly decorative appeal, and pieces of this scale are now increasingly collectable.
