An Amazing Sterling Silver Brooch with Baltic Amber Cabochon

A beautifully detailed vintage sterling silver brooch set with an oval Baltic amber cabochon, finely polished to reveal a rich array of natural inclusions. The amber displays organic plant material, creating depth, contrast and visual interest within the warm honey tones. The silver mount is finely worked with a central bezel setting, surrounded by a recessed field and an outer broad curved band, accented with triple curved bar motifs at each quarter point. The design is balanced and decorative while allowing the amber to remain the focal point. Fitted with a French style roll-over clasp in excellent working order, the brooch can be worn either horizontally or vertically. While unmarked, it tests as sterling silver. The piece remains in excellent condition with no damage or losses and retains a soft, even aged patina.
