A striking French Mid Century Jieldé five arm industrial floor lamp, designed by Jean-Louis Domecq and celebrated for its highly functional articulated construction. This classic design combines engineering precision with timeless industrial style, making it both a practical lighting solution and a strong decorative statement. The lamp features five fully adjustable articulated arms allowing exceptional flexibility in positioning. It can extend to an impressive reach of approximately 165 cm, yet folds down compactly to the scale of a desk lamp when required. The robust circular base provides excellent stability while maintaining the distinctive industrial aesthetic associated with Jieldé lighting. Jieldé was founded in 1953 by Jean-Louis Domecq, who originally developed the lamp in 1950 following a long design process aimed at creating a durable, fully adjustable workshop light. The result became one of the most recognisable industrial lighting designs of the twentieth century and remains highly sought after today. The lamp has been professionally rewired for Australian use and remains in excellent condition. Base diameter approximately 24 cm. Maximum height approximately 165 cm as photographed. Jieldé, France. Mid Century.
