A fabulous handmade Art Deco Mexican solid sterling silver bracelet, beautifully constructed from three substantial panels joined by two sturdy, full-depth hinges and secured with a rear box clasp featuring a sliding safety lock. Each panel is identical in design, centred with a bold butterfly motif framed by a plaited silver border. Five polished silver hemispheres accent each outer wing tip, while seven graduating hemispheres form the body and head. The wings are inlaid with large sections of black onyx, each stone fully bezel set and detailed with three carved divisions radiating outward, highlighted by fine silver bands. The clasp is hallmarked to the reverse STERLING above MEXICO within a circular mark, with the central maker’s mark indistinct. The bracelet remains in excellent condition, retaining a soft age-appropriate patina to the silver. There is no damage or loss, and the onyx appears pristine. Dimensions approximately: 17.4 cm long x 2.8 cm wide maximum x 0.6 cm deep; total weight 53.6 grams. Mexico, Art Deco period.
