After conducting thorough research on Leca, I decided to experiment with it on my water-grown plants. I customized the Leca bag by creating holes and rinsing it until the water ran clear. I then soaked it in a hydrogen peroxide solution and microwaved it before letting it cool. After adding diluted plant food, my hanging pothos and Chinese evergreen thrived.
